About the Author
I am a member of the administrative team at West Carteret High School in Morehead City, NC. This is my second year back at WC and I am excited about this school year! I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Business and Marketing Education and started my teaching career at WC. When Newport Middle opened in the Fall of 2001, I took a position as the Instructional Technology Facilitator. While at Newport Middle, I started the Masters of School Administration Cohort Program through East Carolina Univeristy. I finished this program in the Spring of 2005. I worked with the great folks there at Newport Middle for four years before taking a position as the Assistant Principal at Havelock High School during the 2005-2006 school year. When offered the opportunity to return home to WC…I couldn’t resist the challenge.
This year I am excited to be working with our brand new administrative team. I am eager to see the many plans of this administrative team and school faculty come to fruition. I want to see every student have to opportunity to graduate and be a possible college candidate. I understand this is a lofty goal and will take some retooling of our current educational practices…AKA thinking way outside of the box. I feel we are ready for the challenge…I hope parents and students are strapped in and ready for the ride!
